We partner with the beautiful Intricate Bay Lodge and Outpost to provide a unique experience not found anywhere else.

Tucked away on the pristine shores of Lake Iliamna, Alaska’s largest freshwater lake, Intricate Bay provides a peaceful escape surrounded by wilderness, water and wildlife. Accessible only by floatplane, the lodge provides world class rainbow trout fishing and stunning views.

After a day of exploring, relax with a glass of wine, enjoy a chef-prepared gourmet meal, and fall asleep to the quiet rhythm of the Alaskan backcountry.

This all-inclusive 2-day, 1-night adventure combines bear viewing, wilderness exploration, and lakeside comfort, with everything you need taken care of from start to finish:

Round-trip scenic floatplane flights from Homer.
Guided bear viewing excursion in Katmai National Park.
Overnight stay at Outpost Lodge on Lake Iliamna.
Gourmet meals: dinner (Day 1), breakfast & packed lunch (Day 2).
Your choice of Day 2 activity: fishing, kayaking, or hiking.
Personalized service and expert local guides throughout your experience.

Itinerary

Beginning your adventure!

Your trip begins at our Beluga Air floatplane base in Homer, AK.
After a brief check-in and safety briefing from our experienced pilot you’ll board our de Havilland Beaver floatplane for a scenic ~ 1 to 1.5 hour flight across the Cook Inlet to one of our remote bear viewing locations.
Upon landing, you’ll have 4hours of bear viewing in scenic Katmai National Park, exploring salmon streams or tundra in the Katmai region.
After your excursion, you’ll head to Intricate Bay for a relaxing evening and gourmet dinner.

Day 2 – Your Choice of Adventure

Start your day with breakfast at the lodge, then choosing one of the included guided excursions!
A packed lunch will be provided, and your floatplane will return you to Homer, arriving around 6:00–7:00 PM.

Age Requirement

No minimum—however 4 years old and up is recommended.

For groups with young children of any age, inquire about our private charter options. Please understand any child over the age of 2 years old is required through the FFA to have their own seat.

We are a family operated company, we love seeing families go on adventures together!

Weight Restrictions

We have a weight limitation of 250 lbs. per person.

We want everyone to enjoy bear viewing, so we do require that you wear a PFD and be able to safely enter/exit the aircraft.

This commitment to safety may result in delays or trip cancellations if our pilot feels uncomfortable with the conditions.

There is nothing we want more than to see you fulfill your dream of seeing the bears – that objective is only surpassed by our dedication to ensuring your safety above all else.

Cancellation Policy

We offer full refunds on all payments up to 30 days before your tour date. Within 30 days of your scheduled trip, deposits are non-refundable, and cancellations by the guest for any reason will not be eligible for a refund.

However, should a mechanical issue, weather cancellation, or any service disruption occur on our end, deposits will be refunded in full. We will do our best to rebook your group on an alternative day if availability allows.

We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover any unforeseen events that may prevent you from taking your trip within 30 days of departure.
