At check in, guests will listen in on a brief safety presentation given by our Pilot Wes. Wes is an experienced pilot and safety is always the first priority. Embark on a floatplane tour for 45-minutes of gorgeous flight time over Kachemak Bay with Pilot Wes as your guide. Soar above the charming town of Homer, with its unique blend of coastal charm and Alaskan hospitality. Learn about Homer’s history, its iconic landmarks, view the Homer SPIT from above, learn the real story behind “Smokey Bay”. and get up-close and personal with beautiful Grewingk Glacier. All guests will be on intercom so you can ask questions and talk to each other during the flight. If weather allows, we can head over to the Harding Ice Field and catch a glimpse of the Gulf of Alaska! After an unforgettable journey over the glacier and Grewingk Lake, fly the shoreline and view more of Kachemak Bay State Park where every turn of the propeller reveals a new chapter in the captivating story of Homer, bay villages, and its surrounding wonders. Experience the vastness of Kachemak Bay as it unfolds beneath you. Wes, our experienced pilot, will narrate the history and ecological significance of this expansive bay, known for its rich marine life and pristine waters. This tour has a great potential to see wildlife from the air such as moose, black bear, goats, whales and more, but it is not a tour we stop to view wildlife. Discover hidden alpine lakes, hanging glaciers, and waterfalls nestled high in the mountains with the glacial fed rivers below making their way to the ocean before heading back for a seaplane landing on Beluga Lake.
