The Beaver

Whether you want to go camping at a Public Use Cabin, access your own remote property, or have a heavy load of cargo to haul…the beaver is the plane for the job! This plane can seat up to 7 passengers and haul up to 1200 lbs. of guests and/or cargo. All seats can be readily removed for large gear/cargo, and we do have the ability to haul external loads. The beaver can fit up to a dozen 10’ boards (once we even hauled a refrigerator).

Every day of the float season our beaver is flying passengers to fabulous locations to watch the bears. Throughout the summer we visit four locations based on bear activity and weather. Every passenger receives a headset and a great narrated flightseeing tour over Cook Inlet on the way to their final destination. You may spot wildlife along the way and are welcome to ask the pilot questions and/or laugh at his jokes. The beaver is roomy and comfortable with bubble windows for awesome photographic opportunities!

The beaver is a perfect plane for scenic flightseeing. With large bubble windows and a great view from each seat, you are sure to capture amazing shots from the air during your flight. Enjoy a narrated flightseeing tour over Kachemak Bay State Park and the Grewingk Glacier and ask questions as Pilot Wes presents facts about the area’s history and geographic features. He may even throw in a tall tale or two! The beaver can hold 1-7 passengers within 1200 lbs. total.

The beaver is able to spread ashes inflight for an in-air memorial or at a remote location of your choice. The beaver holds a group of up to 7, maximum weight of 1200 lbs. so many can join in for this time of remembrance.
We also take groups out for ceremonies and elopements. The beaver has plenty of room for the two guests of honor, a photographer, an officiant, and even a couple family members or friends. With enough notice, Pilot Wes is also able to officiate for your special day! We have multiple locations we can recommend for a private and scenic moment.

The beaver can land in most saltwater and freshwater locations throughout Katmai N.P., Lake Clark N.P., Kenai Fjords N.P., Kachemak Bay State Park, Anchorage, Kenai Peninsula, Afognak Island, Kodiak Island and more! Great for hauling lots of cargo, supplies, and gear. External load capable and can hold up to 7 passengers. The plane has a maximum payload of 1,200 lbs. which includes all passengers and cargo.

We offer world class Coastal Brown Bear tours to see these majestic animals in their natural environment. A full day adventure starting with a great narrated flightseeing tour to the viewing location and 4 hours on the ground experiencing pure Alaskan wilderness and beauty! With 5 window seats and large windows everyone has a great view in the de Havilland Beaver!

The Sedan

The Sedan is perfect for short distance, custom flights for 1-3 passengers. We only take this plane to freshwater locations and it has a maximum weight capacity of 450 lbs. for all passengers and cargo.
Charter the Sedan for areas such as the Kenai Peninsula, Kachemak Bay, Homer area, and other short distances within an hour flight time from Beluga Lake. Ideal for hiker drop offs, and small cargo loads. We don’t offer charters in the Sedan to any areas across the Cook Inlet.

The Sedan’s main job at Beluga Air is for training. The dual control system allows Pilot/CFI Wes to offer his one-of-a-kind flight lessons in this impressive and fun-to-fly floatplane.
We offer Discovery Flights for anyone wanting to see if flying is right for them. This is a basic introductory flight -no experience required . Sit left seat and give it a try - warning, you may be hooked on flying for life! We can help students build time and skills, work towards a float rating, and more. We often take skilled Professional Pilots out for an hour of fun Alaska flying, working on technical skills around mountains and alpine lakes.
Headsets and lifejackets are provided, but be sure to bring your flight log so Pilot/CFI Wes can sign off on your time.

The Sedan has big windows surrounding you from all directions (think Tesla) making it perfect for scenic flights. We use this aircraft to fly over to Kachemak Bay State Park and the Grewingk Glacier for amazing views on a narrated flightseeing tour. Everyone has a headset to listen in and ask questions. The Sedan is suited for parties of for 1-3 passengers within 450 lbs. total weight.
